Dr. Ashutosh Shah grew up in Navsari and moved to Surat in 2004 to start his own plastic and cosmetic surgery practice, which is now Elegance Clinic, with centres in Adajan and Vesu.
He joined Baroda Medical College in 1992, completed general surgery training in 2001 and earned his M.Ch. in Plastic Surgery from The M S University of Baroda in 2004. The National Board of Examinations awarded him the D.N.B. in Plastic Surgery in 2006. He then trained in microvascular and reconstructive surgery at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, and in cosmetic surgery at Apollo Hospital, Chennai.
Today he leads Elegance Cosmetic Laser Clinic & Hair Transplant Centre, where patients from across Gujarat and India come for hair transplant, gynecomastia correction, rhinoplasty, liposuction, breast surgery and facial rejuvenation. His approach is simple: safe surgery, honest advice and results that look natural.
Few surgeons in the region practise both sides of plastic surgery at a senior level. Dr. Shah performs replantations, free flaps, burns and post-cancer reconstruction as well as liposuction, gynecomastia correction, breast surgery, rhinoplasty and hair transplant. Microsurgery trains a surgeon to protect blood supply, plan incisions and keep scars small, and those habits carry into his cosmetic work.
Outside the operating room, Dr. Shah is known as a teacher. He speaks at national meetings on cosmetic surgery, hair transplant, diabetic foot management, medico-legal safety and building an ethical aesthetic practice, and he has helped develop practical protocols and awareness programmes suited to Indian patients, especially in cosmetic surgery and diabetic foot care.
