Laser CO2

Laser CO2

CO2 laser skin resurfacing is a method that removes scars, warts, and deep wrinkles by using (CO2) and an epidermis surface-removing laser.

Ablative lasers, such as a CO2 laser, work by causing skin trauma.  It exfoliates the skin's thin outer surface (epidermis) and heats the underlying skin (dermis).  This promotes the formation of new collagen fibers.  The handled skin appears clearer, softer, and tighter as the epidermal cells heal and regrow. Non-ablative lasers, such as pulsed light (IPL) devices, do not cause trauma to the skin but instead stimulate collagen quality and development skin tone and texture.  This is less invasive and takes less time to recover from, but it is less effective.

The laser type is chosen by the surgeon based on the particular patient and the patient's aesthetic goals.

When cleaning or taking a shower, avoid playing at the skin or vigorously rubbing it. Avoid taking hot showers. After-laser resurfacing skincare is similar to that of a second-degree thermodynamic burn; keeping the wound moist and dressing it regularly promotes regenerative recovery.
