Back Liposuction

The back can be broken down into several liposuction areas. These areas include infra-scapular fat, axillary fat, tail fat, lumbo-sacral fat pad, and buffalo hump. Back absorption can make enormous visible improvements. The procedure is, however, easier for patients who have not lost large amounts of weight.

The infrascapular back is only a caudal area of the scapula. The fat on the midpoint back is fibrous more than in most other areas. The liposuction surgeon can view the fat distal to the scapula as a single subcutaneous layer, without any deep fat compartment. The surgeon has two or three transverse rolls of fat parallel to the underlying ribs in some obese people with a fat caudal to the scapula. The skin on the back is particularly susceptible to hyperpigmentation of the skin around the incision sites caused by liposuction. The number of incisions on the backside should be reduced. Trauma to the skin near an incision site can result in a dark mark known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
