Torticollis/ Wryneck

A rare condition in which the neck muscles contract, causing the head to twist to one side.This condition can be congenital (present at birth) or acquired. It can also be the result of damage to the neck muscles or blood supply.  Surgery is reserved only for a few selective cases. In this treatment, some of the upper neck nerves and/or muscles are selectively severed to prevent muscle contraction. Plastic surgery along with physiotherapy gives promising results.
